All the Feels.
Without the Caffeine.

Ankafé is a coffee alternative made of roasted barley—nothing else. It has a nutty, coffee-like flavor with a milder bitterness. Unlike decaf coffee and many other blends, it is a truly caffeine-free alternative to coffee.

Why Roasted Barley?

Barley is one of the ancient grains of the world known for its abundance of health benefits as a food and beverage.

Increases Energy

Barley has starch, a sugar that provides a natural energy, and is loaded with many vitamins and antioxidants.

Improves Digestion

Barley is rich in soluble fiber, including beta glucan, which slows the absorption of carbohydrates.

Supports Hearts

No jitters and crashes like with coffee. Additionally, the beta-glucan in 3 mg or more of whole barley can help lower LDL cholesterol levels.

Promotes Fullness

Barley is high in beta-glucan, which can make you feel full longer by increasing the time it takes for your body to digest food.

Locally Sourced.
Artisan Roasted.

Known as caffe d’orzo, mugicha, cebada tostada, barley coffee, barley tea, and other names, we stand on the shoulders of the individuals and traditions that have shaped roasted barley beverages over centuries. Today, our barley is grown, roasted, and sold within Utah, making its carbon footprint smaller than any traditional coffee. It’s ready to be prepared in the many ways coffee can- iced, lattés, and more. Add two tablespoons of ground Ankafé for every cup brewed, along with milk, sugar, or anything else.

Hope for a
Better World

Ankafé is a social enterprise on a mission to introduce roasted barley to everyone and do as much good along the way. To achieve our mission, we dedicate at least 10% of our profits to community-based organizations and nonprofits that help communities experiencing poverty, focusing on empowering women in Latin America who financially support their families.
